We met this kea while tramping the Kepler track in Fiordland New Zealand. These birds are notorious for their mischief, taking boots and stealing food from packs. They will even rip open tents to have a look inside. This one was in the process of eating a dead stoat out of a stoat trap when we came upon it. It proceeded to take a lot of interest in us, it attempted to take my phone while I was photographing it!
